Why are the famous more famous
I often wonder what makes the famous people more famous!! Is it the media or the people who patronise the media? Afterall, without patrons, media would have been preaching and reaching out to empty souls! Why doesn't media find it to be their responsibility to highlight people and their work that isn't very flamboyant? It' time that media move beyond creating story lines on filmstars or fashionable business tycoons and focus on that common man who might be trying to do his best to contribute to the society.

Indians are low in spiritual consciousness!!!
"One of the main goals of human birth is to attain a higher level of spiritual consciousness during one's lifetime" - does this sound cliche? Is it something that has bounced over your head? No matter, how abstract the statement sounds, in reality, all the enligtened souls who have tread on this earth had been rattling the same mantra for eons.
Before you start wondering if I'm getting angelic, let me spill the beens! In conversation with a close friend we stumbled upon a topic on spiritual consciousness, which not only left me amused but also influenced me to again go rambling.
Spiritual consciousness can be said to be like a self-tuned device in us, which if tuned correctly, helps us to accept life's pragamatic truths and behavior with ease and joy. It brings in a sense of total harmony in us irrespective of the amalgamation of deceit, pain, and disdained external behaviors.
Our conversation about the spiritual consciousness of human beings led to the discussion about a renowned psychiatrist, Dr. David Hawkins. According to Dr. Hawkins, every person's spiritual consciousness can be mapped in a scale from 1 to 1000. Dr Hawkins's had been researching on a well-based science, called, kinesiology for the last 29 years , which describes the synergy between the human consciousness and the response of the body muscles to a stimuli. He has termed this effect as the "muscle testing" of one's consciousness. He reiterates that every muscle of our body reacts differently for different situations, which in turn plays important roles in raising our spiritual consciousness. It seems, that the spiritual consciousness can be calibrated! Does this sound strange? We would have never thought about our muscles playing a major role in our conscious upliftment?right? It was even more interesting to know that as per staistics, the enlightened souls, such as Buddha and Christ were at a conscious level of 650, while Gandhiji's was calibrated to be about 500.
It is said that the consciousness of the whole humanity or of people of a country can also be calculated using the same methodologies. I was surprised to know that country like India as a nation, is calibrated at a level, 203 in its collective consciousness, whereas the collective consciousness of the people of Europe and America is found to be 350!! This was totally unbelievable!! I was trying to protest mentally, about how could a land that is the origin of the Vedas and Upanishaads be so low in spiritual awareness?? Countries such as Iraq and Iran are studied to be at a value,102, which is quite understandable to me for reasons best observed.
The consciousness quotient of a mass depends on the level of integrity that the people of the nation beholds. We, as a nation, hold low in our integrity when compared to the other European nations. On trying to get my own interpretation about being small in our integrity, I could rationalize that spirituality cannot be the forte of the empty stomachs! A nation of all equals in wealth and health need not compromise on their integrity, but a nation that has billions of people malnourished and impoverished, can get tempted to compromise on their integrity! The other side of the picture can be that we might compromise our values to keep our pace in the rat race for a good job, a hefty bank balance, and a socially acclaimed lifestyle! Even though my heart tells me to deny my own fears, the reality might be a scary story to unearth.
Nevermind, it was at least gladdening to know, that the world is always blessed with a blend of people who are at a high spiritual conscious level. These highly aware people balances the collective consciousness on this planet by compensating for all the ignorant beings. I do not know whether the spiritual consciousness levels of us are degrading or upgrading with time, but I would be happy if I can leave behind a legacy of a more "consciously aware" world for the future generations to come! What do you intend?

Gossiping is an art?
I've decided to write about a comical side of all of us, that is GOSSIPING. I call it comical because it is an act that is liable for causing huge damage to any person, but it can never be challenged in any court of law for the caused damage.
Gossiping is a very natural talent that is packaged integrally in every person right from the birth!! Though the talent is ingrained naturally, still, there is a kind of vulnereability in every person who gossips. The vulnereability is of the gossip monger who tries to hide one's own short comings by talking about the other person's short comings!
I thought that gossiping can be categorized... I have categorized it to the "intelligent gossiping" and the "idle gossiping ". Since I've come to the extent of categorizing gossiping, I thought, I owe the responsibility of defining the types too. Not doing so might trouble your mind about what category does your gossiping belong to!
Intelligent gossiping is a form that involves distinguishing and discussing the normal from the abnormal or the usual from the unusual. Whenever you discuss the mannerism or the peculiar behavior of your colleague, boss, or any acquiantance, I term that to be indulging in intelligent gossiping :-). The intelligence part of this gossiping is that you are defining the rules of acceptance in your little social world. You along with your gossip monger friends, set the trend of what is socially accepted and what is not!
Idle gossiping is what most of us find more easy and relaxing. This type of gossiping involves simple cheap discussions about somebody's personal life or you might smear joy by spinning untrue stories.
My thoughts on this topic couldn't conclude about whether gossiping is a virtue or a vice, but if you have an opinion or a contradiction to my thought, then ramble it out here.

Luxurious education!!
I often wonder if professional educational institutions become reputed for the quality of education they impart or for the lucrative job offers that their students get! Modern educational system puzzles me nowadays because of their uncanny and unsure objectives to exist as an education institution.
The goal of any educational institution must be to embrace students of high excellence and provide them the proper infrastructure to study. Although most institutions do provide good infrastructure to their students, the real set-back is the whopping fee that they charge from the students! I would not like to quote any particular institution here, but isn't high cost more prevalent among the elite and reputed institutions of the world?
Such phenomenon practiced by the reputed institutions raise doubts about the focus and goals of these institutions. It also raises apprehensions about the elite institutions being available only to the students who hail from the high-income group! Many a time, a student of brilliant intellect may not be able to enroll into an elite institution due to lack of monetary funds. Even today, an opportunity to study in institutions like Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, or MIT remains to be a distant dream for many eligible and brilliant students of the third world countries! We have heard about wards of politicians and head of countries who have had the privilege to study in the Harvard or the Cambridge. Rarely, have we heard about a brilliant Ram, Hari or Lakshmi of our country to have earned seats in these coveted institutions!!
I think it is time for the elite and the reputed institutions to enrich their campus life with eligible and brilliant students only. Let monetary ontogeny be not the only goal for the reputed educational institutions. The responsibility of funding these institutions can be taken up by the the government of the country. It would be even better if a centralized body can be formed in the United Nations, which can shoulder the responsibility of funding the elite institutions of the world!
The crux is, there needs to be a workaround for making the world impartial to every brilliant student such that they can walk their chosen aisle of knowledge called, UNIVERSITIES.

Ambitious road to Everest!!
China's preposterous decision of constructing a road upto the base camp of the Everest to about 17,000ft sounds to be the most insane thing that modern man could do! Besides the grumbling of the environmentalists is there no legislation or law that can prevent such a forthcoming devastation? Seems like insanity of mankind is going to engulf our planet!!
It has been learnt from time immemorial that people had always been interested about glorifying their own reputation by competing with fellow mortals. Our little sensibilities prevent us from thinking about the unsafe planet that we would be leaving behind for our future generations. I strongly feel that if we do not take the responsibility of keeping the planet as beautiful as it is today, then we should be debarred from having offsprings too!! Do we ever think that our irresponsible actions will repute us as criminals of our children's misery?
The Chinese ambitious goal of constructing a road to the Everest base camp is definitely a gruesome attack on the environmental resources of the Himalayas. Isn't it time for us to raise the alarm bells to protect our environment, or are we more curious to witness the construction of another great wall of China over the Himalayas?
Man has always been contented to live with magnified ego that keeps stroking his false glory! Do you differ with me on this note?If you do, scribble your point here :-)

Are you Charitable?
Nope, do not get me wrong; I'm not in dearth of any materialistic needs and am not trying to make any appeal for charity! So, please be relaxed and read further if you want to know what my mind is rambling about.
Do we all remember our school days when we used to share our tiffin boxes at lunch times with our friends? Am sure those were the moments when we used to feel proud to share our lunch with friends for reasons best known to us. For those, who never had such moments in their life of sharing their tiffin boxes in school days can still try it now in your colleges or workplaces :-).
Now, the question that arises in my mind is, when we had known about sharing since our childhood, then how did the term "charity" impregnate our child-like minds? Do we really fathom the actual meaning of this word and have we ever questioned the need to do charity in this world?
To me, the word charity brings in high self-esteem and pride to the person who is practising charity! We think that the best possible way to prove one's goodness to the world is to practice charity. We are happy to have practised good "karma" and feel proud to be labeled as a nobel and a charitable human being. Some even counter their fears of a miserable next birth by being charitable. Not to mention the least about the young professionals who obtain tax exemption by practising charity. Actually in real sense, have we ever felt sheer joy and bliss on parting with our money in the name of charity?
Another question that rattles my mind is, why wasn't charity such a huge requirement in the golden-olden days in our country, India? Also, why is there such a huge need for it today? I infer from my little understanding that "old" India was rich in her resources and most were self sufficient within their realms. People in villages never desired or attempted to tredd the urban paths and the urban people had less competition for making their both ends meet. Everybody was contented within their territories and didnt have the need to intrude into the other's territory. The people from the villages were unaware of the urban life and were never ambitious to venture into a new land. So, I should say that there was bliss in people's life due to ignorance.
The more the villagers suffered in droughts or floods, the more the influx of people into urban lands happened!! You need very less imagination to understand that our urban cities were not equipped with basic amenities to support people beyond its capacity (after feeding our covetous politicians). This gave birth to a chain of NGOs and private charitable trusts.
My final thought is whether charity is the only route for helping the poor? Isn't charity and charitable organizations raising expectations of a secured support system to a section of poor people who might be lazy and irresponsible? Is practising charity going to bridge the gap between the haves and the have-nots ever?
I do not have answers to my own questions but I believe in the old system of sharing. The day we could share our wealth, our food, and our happiness with our own less privileged brethren, there may not be the need for people to abandon their homes and come in search for greener pastures in barren (urban) lands.

Here goes my rambles...
It has been now ages that the rambler in me wanted to ramble as a scribe. I call it "ages" because our memory is constrained within confines of our fast-paced life styles, therefore making it short-lived. As blogging had barged into our tech savvy lives around 3 or 4 years ago, it might be justified to fictionally think that it has been here for "ages" now. If you dont' agree with me on this note, then I might be too glad to intro you to few "grandpas" of the blogging world :-)
Jokes apart, now that this rambler has come of age to ramble out here, it is only hoped that the world out there is all particpative to share the ramblings of their mind with me.
