China's preposterous decision of constructing a road upto the base camp of the Everest to about 17,000ft sounds to be the most insane thing that modern man could do! Besides the grumbling of the environmentalists is there no legislation or law that can prevent such a forthcoming devastation? Seems like insanity of mankind is going to engulf our planet!!
It has been learnt from time immemorial that people had always been interested about glorifying their own reputation by competing with fellow mortals. Our little sensibilities prevent us from thinking about the unsafe planet that we would be leaving behind for our future generations. I strongly feel that if we do not take the responsibility of keeping the planet as beautiful as it is today, then we should be debarred from having offsprings too!! Do we ever think that our irresponsible actions will repute us as criminals of our children's misery?
The Chinese ambitious goal of constructing a road to the Everest base camp is definitely a gruesome attack on the environmental resources of the Himalayas. Isn't it time for us to raise the alarm bells to protect our environment, or are we more curious to witness the construction of another great wall of China over the Himalayas?
Man has always been contented to live with magnified ego that keeps stroking his false glory! Do you differ with me on this note?If you do, scribble your point here :-)

actually if debarred from having offsprings, perhaps they would care less for the planet..
i think people now care more about environment, thanks to the extreme seasons, but whether that would translate into actions is a different thing all together..
